Position Description

 

POSITION TITLE: Payroll/Human Resources

FLSA: Exempt

RETIREMENT: Railroad Retirement

FT or PT: Full-time – no remote option

POSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President of Human Resources

POSITION PURPOSE: Payroll/Human Resources will be responsible for a wide range of HR tasks, ADP Workforce experience with processing multi-state payroll.  Some bookkeeping may be required using QuickBooks Online/NetSuite.  This position requires proactiveness, meticulous to details in data entry, manage multiple responsibilities at once, great communication and organizational skills in a high-pressure environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Processes bi-weekly multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now and the filing of required tax forms.
  • Manage the recruitment, attend job fairs and onboarding process, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating new hire orientation.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with inquiries related to benefits enrollment, changes, and claims.
  • Meet mandatory deadlines for health insurance, 401k, railroad retirement, etc.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Implement and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Provide HR support to employees and managers daily, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs or policy development.
  • Bookkeeping to help with AP/AR may be required.
  • Utilize Excel to analyze data, create pivot tables and general reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED 2+ YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING

  • ADP Workforce Now with Payroll
  • HR roles, with a focus on generalist responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • ADP Enhanced Time
  • ADP Enhanced HR
  • Microsoft Excel, Work and PowerPoint
